Each Gift to WUC is a Gift to Yourself

Your generosity sustains our Club's legacy

The Women's University Club relies upon the generosity of its members. Your financial support, along with donations of time and talent, greatly enhance the WUC experience for yourself and all members. Your generosity sustains our Club's legacy. Past gifts continue to provide enjoyment for Club members through the sponsorship of lectures, musical performances, and other special events all year long. All contributions are accepted by the Memorial and Gift Committee and are prudently allocated at the discretion of the Board of Trustees. The WUC offers a variety of opportunities for giving:

Sustaining Fund

Members often make donations to this fund in memory of a fellow member or to honor a member's special celebration: birthday, anniversary, service, etc. These gifts support Programs, Education, Activities and the Wellesley Library.

Capital Fund

Money received is used for capital improvements, major building repairs, and renovations. It is funded by monthly building assessments, new-member entrance fees as well as member donations.

Edith Backus Society

Gifts for Today and the Future

Gifts to the Edith Backus Society Fund of $5,000 or more can be given as a one-time gift or as equal installments across a 5-year period. Members may also remember the Club in their estate plans with a deferred bequest of $5,000 or more. These gifts are deposited in a Board-designated fund to be used for the benefit of the entire membership.

Founders' Day Fund

Provides an annual opportunity for members to make contributions in honor of the Women's University Club's birthday each February. These gifts are used to purchase an item for the Club as designated by the Board of Trustees.

Gifts In Kind

Donations of artwork, furniture, antiques or other objects of value may be offered to the Club for consideration. Our Executive Manager can assist you in this process. (Please include a cash value of the item for insurance purposes.)

The Encore Boutique

From the Members for the Members

A unique way of giving to the Club is through the ENCORE BOUTIQUE "Pop-Ups," that specialize in selling member-donated "like new" apparel items and their related accessories. Our Pop-Ups occur monthly and several of them have become annual events.

Started in 2013, with beginning revenues of $1,672.00, the ENCORE BOUTIQUE has morphed into a surprisingly profitable venture for the Club. Its proceeds are designated to help raise funds for special projects.

"Giving" by way of the Encore Boutique is such a win-win for everyone. Not only do 100% of our sales go directly to the WUC, but our Pop-Up Sales are too much fun to miss! They are a place to meet your friends, to laugh, and to enjoy being part of the ENCORE and WUC Community.
